Terms of Service
Last updated: July 14, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the Catty project ("Catty", "we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the Catty Discord bot and web dashboard. By adding Catty to a server, signing in to the dashboard, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By using Catty you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using Catty on behalf of a Discord server, you represent that you have authority to bind that server and its administrators to these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and meet Discord's minimum age requirement for your country (at least 13) to use Catty.
Description of Service
Catty provides Discord bot features — including music playback, moderation, economy, games, and statistics — and a web dashboard for configuration and live control. Catty is currently offered free of charge.
Features may change, be added, or be removed as the product evolves. We may impose reasonable usage limits (such as rate limits and command cooldowns) to keep the service stable for everyone.
Accounts & Authentication
Dashboard access requires signing in with Discord. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account and for all activity that occurs under your session.
You must provide accurate information and promptly revoke access or contact us if you believe your account or a session has been compromised. You can review and revoke active sessions from your dashboard settings.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Catty to violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or any applicable law
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, accounts, or other servers' information
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
- Circumvent rate limits, cooldowns, security controls, or access restrictions
- Use the service to distribute malware, spam, or illegal, infringing, or harmful content
Server Administrator Responsibilities
Server owners and administrators are responsible for how Catty is configured and used on their servers, including the permissions granted to the bot, which features are enabled, and any logging webhooks they set up. If logging is enabled, message content and member information may be sent to a Discord channel selected and controlled by the server's administrators.
Administrators are responsible for complying with applicable laws and for informing their members about the bot's use where required. We may suspend or remove Catty from servers that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.
Music & Third-Party Content
Catty uses supported third-party platforms such as YouTube, YouTube Music, and SoundCloud to search for tracks and support playback. Spotify metadata may be used to locate a playable source. Your use of that content is subject to those platforms' terms. We do not host, own, or claim rights to streamed content, and we are not responsible for its availability or accuracy.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to request and play the content you use.
Virtual Economy & Games
Catty's economy and games use virtual currency and items that have no real-world monetary value, cannot be purchased, and cannot be exchanged for money or anything of value. Balances and game outcomes are provided for entertainment only.
We may adjust, reset, or remove virtual balances and game data at any time, including to fix bugs or abuse.
Availability & Changes
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. The service is provided on an "as available" basis.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice, and we are not liable for any resulting unavailability or data loss.
Intellectual Property
Catty, its name, branding, dashboard design, and original code are owned by the Catty project and its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service as intended.
You retain ownership of content you create. Trademarks and content belonging to Discord, music platforms, and other third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
Termination
You may stop using Catty at any time. You can remove the bot from your server and may delete your data through the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove Catty from a server, if you violate these Terms or if needed for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
Disclaimers
Catty is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or that defects will be corrected. We are not responsible for third-party services (Discord, music platforms, hosting providers) or for user-generated content.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Catty and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or service interruption arising from or related to your use of the service.
Because Catty is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed EUR 50 or the equivalent in your local currency.
Third-Party Services
The service integrates with and depends on third-party platforms, including Discord and the music and content sources described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and their availability is outside our control.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Catty after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
